The Perfecting of the Saints

There is a word that is worth thinking about even though we understand it so imperfectly. We understand “Ok” and “good” and “better” and “best” when we are thinking about ourselves, but not “perfection.”  Believers in Jesus try to be perfect just because we know it is the right thing to do. We want to please God. He’s our Father and we feel bad when we don’t.
Well, let me tell you, “you’re OK” in God’s eyes, you’re right where He wants you. You believe in Him, and because you do He’s pleased. In fact, “you’re pretty good” and “getting better.” You’re in the Potters hands. He is shaping you, as you live and breathe. So, keep on trusting that He knows what is “best” and that He already has His new creation in mind, how you will eventually be.  He’s not done yet.
Consider Jesus and what He had to endure to make it possible for us to become like Him. We are growing toward perfection when we remain in faith that He is and that He loves us.  Oh, and because God is our Father we find it harder and harder to get away with much. I know I am not the only one that has been taken to the wood shed or felt sorrow and regret because of my choices.
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,  and do not lose heart when He rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the ones He loves,  and He chastens everyone He accepts as His son.”  Hebrews 12:6
We are called to holiness, this is one of His means of perfecting us.
“But we all, with unveiled face (able to see), beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord (His reflection) are being transformed (changed) into the same image, from glory to glory, which comes from the Lord, the Spirit.”  2 Corinthians 3:18
While you live and breathe enjoy the peace that comes from knowing that He has given you His Spirit to guide you home.
