To David, my son and Tearra, his soon to be bride.
There was one last thing for God to do before He rested from His labors. Glancing around at His creation He saw that Adam was lonely. Even though God walked with Adam it wasn’t helping his loneliness. God is Spirit and Adam was flesh. So, God fulfilled the needs of flesh by taking a part of it and creating Eve. Two souls from one flesh. From this, God’s provision, Jesus taught the mystery of marriage.
“From the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So that they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” (Mark 10:6-9) The mystery of marriage is that God truly joins two souls together, as He did in the beginning, until death when they part.
Sharing my perspective of One Flesh
Make the best of it. You could be together for a long time. Might as well make every day a blessing as you love each other. One flesh shares everything, so give each other the best that you can. Dream your dreams, but share them too. Together you will bring them to pass. Remember the garden of long ago? God will talk with you in yours. Let nothing separate you. No secretes, hurts or angers. Trust, heal and forgive instead. There will be plenty of opportunities to do these things in the days ahead.
God has brought the two of you together so that He might bless you with each other. Do your part and He will have done His. Let there be a bench where quietly you sit next to your love. Be content. Cherish your gift and thank God for every moment. Someday you may be sitting on that bench alone with your memories. Make sure they are amazing and without regret.
