His Family Table: It’s a noisy place.

His family is getting louder.

We are living as God planed. Family is joining in at the table sharing the goodness of the Lord. Conversations are holy, but that doesn’t mean they are boring. It’s exciting sharing truth. Stuff you didn’t know, words that finally sink in and joy that comes from discovering the love of God that is beyond our understanding.

Last night Valaree and Vicki picked this new look for His Family Table. What a relief it is when others contribute their skills, especially the ones you lack. The digital world is far too complicated for my mind to grasp, or maybe I am preoccupied? In either case I am grateful. Because the efforts to produce His Family Table are now shared more folks will be able to hear the Father’s invitation.

His family has a job to do.

Each of us are called to be a witness. The highest court of all has summoned us to give our testimony. We are to tell the truth.  And the truth is: Jesus is God who became a man, who was crucified, died and was buried. Raised to life He now sits at the right hand of the throne of God.

Through a miracle, God’s gift called “faith”, we know that HE IS. Believing His word is changing our life.  Believing His word is life.

How can we refuse our Father God when he has asked that we go into all the world? He has made it easy for most of us. We have friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors that God would invite through our witness of life with Jesus that is offered to all.

His family is not ashamed to work.

The world may think His family is foolish wasting time in this way. God didn’t think any of us was a waste of time, so why should the world’s thoughts concern us. Those opposed to God’s Biblical revelation are defending the gods of their own creation. Our Father, God Almighty, doesn’t need us to defend Him. His word is His sword.

God has done so much for us.  We are not ashamed to share His love or what He has done for us. Besides, someday Jesus will declare our name before His Father and the angels. But that is not what drives us. It is the will of God.  “For God so loved the world,” so does His Spirit who dwells in His Family.

Receiving God’s gift of faith comes with a place at His Family Table. “Whosoever will.” The Gospel is an invitation to all. Life forevermore.  Share the Good News!
