Building the Temple of God. pg. 11

An extra page for those who have been following.

I have a bias.

I believe God will always keep His word. God swore an oath, and that should be the end of the matter, but it is not. Satan attacks God’s character by giving reasons to doubt His word. The world is full of celebrities, authoritative voices, that are duped into undermining the truth of God’s word. Swimming against the stream of thought, found in many Christian persuasions, I am offering a view of prophecy according to my bias.

God called it “My covenant” that he established with Abraham.  It is to be an “everlasting covenant” between Abraham and his “seed throughout their generations.” In Abraham’s “seed all the nations of the earth will be blessed.” It included the promise of an “everlasting possession” of land stretching from the “Nile to the Euphrates River.” The sign of this covenant was circumcision. Why did God swear this oath? Because Abraham obeyed. (Genesis 15:18, 17:1-8, 22:18, 26:1-5)

Celebrities have their bias.

Now some would take the Hebrew phrase (used six times in scripture) interpreted as “seed,” and say, “It always means Jesus, the fulfillment of God’s prophecy.” This is done to support their view of how things are and will be. The phrase can also mean descendants or offspring.

The descendants of Abraham have not been the blessing to the nations that Jesus has been. He is the “seed.” God’s promise of land, specifically described, has not been realized. Ezekiel and Jeremiah declared that this would happen when the “descendants” returned. (Ezekiel 47-48, Jeremiah 31:8-9 )

Jesus is the fulfillment of the spiritual reality in God’s everlasting covenant. There remains a physical reality that has yet to be fulfilled. Some would say God is done with Israel saying, “Salvation comes by faith and not by blood.” Their statement is true, but not their conclusion. They are ignorant or conceited in thinking that God is finished with His chosen people.

The Apostle Paul spoke the truth.

“For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery — so that you will not be wise in your own estimation — that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,

THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FOM JACOB”  “THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS.” (Romans 11:25-27, Isaiah 59:20-21)

If my words seam strong and without doubt, it is because God has proclaimed these things in His Holy Word.  To be continued.
