Building the Temple of God. pg. 28

No! He is NOT resting there.

We are Christians who have followed the prophets from the time of Abraham. We have read and believed their Scriptures. They are Holy and they have become our own. We know the descendants of Israel brought a curse upon their heads and the heads of their children. They rejected God’s Son. The Western Wall is not where the Devine Presence is at rest.

“When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, But rather that a riot was starting, he took water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said, ‘My hands are clean of this mans blood; it is your responsibility.’ All the people answered, ‘His blood is on us and on our children!’ Then he released to hem Bar-Abba; but Yeshua, after having him whipped, he handed over to be executed on a stake.” (Matthew 27:24-26 CJB)

We have followed the prophets and have witnessed the severity of God’s judgements upon His people.  At Mount Sinai seven thousand died by the sword. The tribe of Benjamin lost twenty-five thousand in one battle. Nine out of ten died when the house of Israel was divorced and scattered. A plague killed thousands because David sinned by counting Israel. Suffering the consequences of sin, Judah was captured by Babylon. God does not coddle His people. And He is serious about what is coming in judgement for their evil deed.

Peter didn’t gingerly tip-toe when called to give account. “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Jesus, the one whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him. But you disowned the Holy and Righteousness One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, but put to death the Author of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses.”  Acts 3:13-15)

Forgiveness or severe judgement.

We have heard the words of Daniel marking that very day when the Messiah Jesus would be rejected by His own. God turned to the Gentiles fulfilling a promise to Abraham, and to make Israel jealous. Each day draws closer to when that last Gentile comes into the kingdom of God. Then Jacob’s trouble will begin. This time two-thirds of all of Jacob’s descendants will perish in Judgement. No, the Devine Presence is not resting on the western wall. The Devine Presence is in those who have received the Messiah. The God of their fathers is full of wrath. It will be vented upon all who have rejected Him.

Can we who believe the prophets speak with any less authority? Are Christians suppose to pretend that our silence will wake Israel up? God has given us His Spirit, who has led us into truth. Perhaps it was done so that we might warn the third of Israel who will repent and live. To know is to warn. May those who truly are repentant turn to Him early. Then they will feed on the encouragements He has placed in His Holy Word. That will be needed passing through their fiery trial.

To be continued.
