Building the Temple of God. pg. 29

ISRAEL ….. WAKE UP!

Listen to the prophets your fathers killed. Shun your false teachers who change God’s Holy Word. May the Spirit of the Most High give you eyes to see the world as it is, and ears to hear the words of the One who is your Savior.  Long ago Zechariah knew a day would come when the Lord would visit you again. Moses warned the nation what would happen if your idols and evil deeds provoked Him to anger. Did it not come true? Amos and Hosea foretold the destruction of the house of Israel. Are Isaiah and Ezekiel’s words any less true?

Moses said there was a remedy for that which ails you. “But from there (the nations) you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the LORD your God and obey His voice (for the LORD your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.” (Deuteronomy 4:29-31)

God has not forgotten the promise that He has made. Distress will befall Israel because Israel has forgotten. Israel, you praise yourselves as the waste lands bloom. Listen to the word of God. “Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not been mindful of the Rock of your stronghold, Therefore you will plant pleasant plants and set out foreign seedlings; In the day you will make your plant to grow, and in the morning you will make your seed to flourish; But the harvest will be a heap of ruins in the day of grief and desperate sorrow.” (Isaiah 17:10-11)

In these days of distress help will come as the God of Abraham becomes your Shepherd. “For thus says the LORD GOD: ‘Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. (Ezekiel 34:11-12)

Israel is to be gathered out of all the nations, but only one-third will live to enter the land of Israel. (Zechariah 13:8-9) “Zion shall be redeemed with judgement and her penitent with righteousness. The destruction of transgressors and of sinners shall come together, And those who forsake the Lord shall be consumed.” (Isaiah 1:27-28)

Israel, are your eyes opening? Do you hear?

When Zechariah’s words are fulfilled those that remain will be filled with sorrow. Will you now seek God with all your heart and all your soul? Or must you wait for the time of your distress? The Shepherd knows His sheep and is calling to them. The days of gathering restores a nation who will then grieviously mourn, but not for themselves.

“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; Then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. In that day there will be great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in he plain of Megiddo.” (Zechariah 12:10-11)

Notice the Trinity? The Spirit of grace and supplication, Me whom they pierced and they will mourn and grieve for Him whom they rejected. Only small portions of the prophets words to Israel have been noted on these pages. Those of Israel who seek Him with all their heart and soul do well to read them all.
