Anointing of the Spirit.

 The empty tomb.

There is more than one empty tomb in Jerusalem. They have become beautiful tourist attractions. One is viewed from a reverent distance while the other beckons the curious visitor to come inside. It does not matter which, if either, is the right one. He is not there. He has risen. And those who believe in Him know that it is true.

My prayer is for the Father to anoint Jesus’ church. “The Spirit of the LORD GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me To bring good news to the humble.” (Isaiah 61:1) Is it too much to ask our Father for a taste of what He gave to Jesus? It’s for the same purpose, that our Father be glorified.

It’s a simple prayer that we be “sent to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And freedom to prisoners; To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,” (Isaiah 61:2-3)

It takes an anointing.

These are not things accomplished in our own strength.  Touching the heart of man is the work of the Spirit of God. Without God’s anointing we lack the power of His love, His authority and opportunities to serve Him. Not to mention that proclaiming the good news requires boldness.

“…….you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it in your pleasures.” (James 4:2-3) So, I’m asking our Father to anoint Jesus’ church that He might be glorified, would you join me?
