Emotion and Worship.

We all experience emotions.

And yours might seem over-the-top, you know, a little crazy to someone else.  Grief is one emotion that can drive you crazy, some never return. What do you say when grief first strikes another? If you are wise not a word, a hug will do best. I’ll never understand the emotions of FANS. They are called fanatics for good reason.  The drama kings and queens will wear a  man like me out. We are different, I get it. And we can never truly know what another person is experiencing except in worship.

Unfortunately we live among manipulators and actors seeking to draw attention to themselves. Some are duped into compliance through their ignorance of God’s nature. Together their antics create a picture that would bring disrepute to those who worship God in spirit and truth. The world is full of enmity toward God.

“But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.” (John 4:23)

The greatest emotion of all is love toward God in worship. Real emotions, expressed by our spirit, pleases our Father. Strange that emotional expression is stifled in worship. Did the bad actors cause us to be embarrassed? What would others think?  There is a time for tears and a time for joy, let our worship express the truth in our heart. As long as it is real God will be blessed.
