His good pleasure.
Been thinking of “purpose,” and being grateful to God for the purpose He has given to me. “Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure.” (Isaiah 46:9-10)
This truth is for those who have been born of His Spirit. We can remember the former things, and we know that it was God who saved us. Declaring His word, which does not return to Him void, God accomplishes His purpose. We are His “good pleasure” as He awakens us to know His love. I get to be a little like the Preacher who “sought to find delightful words and to write words of truth correctly.” (Ecclesiastes 12:10) Well, maybe my words are not delightful, but hopefully encouraging as we walk with the Spirit into the light of God’s kingdom.
God is love.
And we are the recipients of God’s love. Love that will mend a broken heart, or heal a crippled soul. Hope restored and freedom found, all by knowing His love. When we abide in His love it is He who abides in us. Amazing and wonderfully true! God’s “good pleasure” is His love in us. It is meant to be expressed. Our purpose is to find the best way to do this. Something that fits.
“For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,” (1 Peter 2:21) Yes, there is suffering when you love, but it is so worth it. We get to walk in His Spirit.
