Prayer Time.

Nothing like a walk in the woods.

I’m not thinking of a park, something well-groomed, but woods where God’s creation remains nearly untouched. To walk in this woods is to be touched by God. Carefully walk so as not to disturb the way God has arranged things. Slowly His path leads you to that place of prayer.

We need our place of prayer. A place to walk or sit knowing we are in His presence. A quiet place along the shore, in the garden or at your desk. It doesn’t matter where. When we pray He is always there. What keeps us away?

When you love someone you want to be with them. God loves us and wants us to be with Him through prayer. He is Spirit, He is love and His desire is to bless His children with His presence. So, what keeps us away? Lack of faith in His love? I certainly hope not after what Christ did to prove God’s love. Perhaps we are still undisciplined children. It takes determination to overcome the distractions of life in the flesh.

Notice how many times the word “we” was used? God does not discipline us to seek His company. He doesn’t force us. That discipline is self-administered. Pray for me as I pray for all of us to spend more time in prayer.
