Workings of His Power.

Working within us.

Jesus told His disciples to wait until they were “clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:29) Wow! What a difference that made in the lives of believers.  Now there is no need to wait we only need to ask. It is a wonderful gift from our Father. And you only have to ask once to receive this “power from on high.” But, until we grow in our  understanding of God’s word our faith is limited.

The Power of God.

Look deeply into the cross and you will see the power of God. Hear the gospel and you will have heard the power of God. Witness Christ, He is the power of God. This is the power from on high” that we receive when we believe that our Father would send us His Spirit. The cross becomes ours, and the gospel is shared as we experience the workings of Christ, this power within us.

I love it when the apostle Peter sends a message “To those who have received a faith of the same value as ours, in the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:” That’s us, we have received the same kind of faith. “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;” (The benefits of being Christ’s disciple.) “seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and virtue.”  (2 Peter 1:1-3)

His divine power HAS granted to us everything we need to live godly lives. His divine power comes through the knowledge of God. We are never powerless when we have received God’s Spirit. Limits are self imposed through our lack of “true knowledge” of our Father. Scripture is the remedy.

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)

The photo is of a place I use to sit and let my mind wander and wonder about things like this. We are blessed.
