Reasoning with an evolutionist.
Can it be done? Can you reason with an evolutionist, or are they a hardened atheist? Misled by the voices of man’s wisdom, or the spirit of the antichrist? You know that anyone who denies that Jesus is the Messiah exhibits the spirit of the antichrist. Or you should know. “Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.” (1 John 2:22) also (1 John 2:18, 4:3, and 2 John 1:7) It is vanity to reason with the devil. So, how do you leave the conversation with one who might have been mislead?
Man’s scientific efforts are confined to the material world. They cannot prove the existence of God who is Spirit. But to deny the revelation of the Son of God, who appeared in the flesh, is without excuse. That man, be he a scientist or layman, refuses to acknowledge the existence of God.
The one who claims to be unbiased in his search for truth would put these words of Jesus to the test. He spoke clearly to all who questioned Him.
“So Jesus answered them and said, ‘My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself. He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, he is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” (John 7:16-18)
If one is unwilling, their excuses, no matter how they are reasoned, proves a closed mind. But hope springs eternal, and Jesus’ words still apply for whosoever will. The proof of faith is found in our willingness to do God’s will.
