Spring Cleaning

An appointed time.

Many of you have returned time and again to His Family Table from places far and wide. I am thrilled when I see your nation’s flag on my screen. Viewing your blogs was discovering a width of interests through your words, photos and art. You are my brothers and sisters scattered throughout God’s world. So, I am asking for your help with some spring cleaning.

“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven -“ (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Some years ago I wrote a book. The first of its three parts is a transparent attempt to chronicle my journey from death to life. It was written in hopes that it would be an encouragement to others who would believe in Jesus. The middle portion contains my heart expressing its meditations. It ends with the prophetic certainty of God’s will for His people Israel.

So, I ordered boxes of them with the intention of making them gifts. I soon discovered more books than family, friends and acquaintances. I began leaving them with a tip at coffee shops and other places where they might be found and taken. Amazingly, I discovered that not everyone wanted this kind of gift. And many still sit in boxes in our garage. If you would like one …. comment with your mailing address. (It will not be made public) I will be pleased to send it, and you will be helping me with my spring cleaning.

Solomon gives a list of tasks “which God has given to men with which to occupy themselves.” (Ecclesiastes 3:10) Mine is to “build up” (Vs. 3) by writing to encourage believers with the blessings found in Christ and God’s Holy Scriptures. I am so grateful for this purpose our Father has given to me. We are truly loved.
