The Light of Life. pg. 9

When all is said and done.

“……. God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11)

We find that God has been turning our attention away from ourselves, so that we might see Him. Jesus is building His church, not us. We are a part of His doing. How silly to think we could do any good thing without His life in us. I wonder how much we realize that? God is in us, the Light of Life, preparing us to meet Jesus face to face.

I wonder how often we would pray if we realized the power of Jesus’ name. Not shouting it out to convince ourselves, but confident that the Father hears us when we pray as Jesus would. What would you pray realizing that He lives in you? God grants the power of prayer to all of His children.

“In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked for nothing in my name; ask and you receive, so that your joy may be made full.” (John 16:23-24)

It is a matter of faith.

Faith in our Father’s love and in Jesus’ words. “In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from the Father. I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father.”  (John 16:26-28)

It is a matter of love.

Love of Jesus for His Father, and our love for God and each other. “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” (John 14:12-15)

Lord, continue your sacred work of transforming us. We long to see You.
