“Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE with HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another. BE ANGRY, AND DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.” (Ephesians 4:25-27)
Awaken by anger.
Unaware, I brought it to bed with me. Sleep was sweet until anger woke me at 2 am. For the next hour I tossed and turned from one incomplete thought to another. Full of judgment with little conviction, I wrestled some place in-between. Anger without resolution. I had given place to the devil.
Before “I lay me down to sleep” I carried the weight of the day. We all have our concerns, but we are not meant to carry them alone by thinking that IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOU. There are many things beyond our control, and if we are not trusting the One with ALL control we end up frustrated. Looking for reasons why my “Simple Request” (Post 9/5) was going unanswered left me open to answers given by devils.
“They just don’t care. It’s not important to them. They are comfortable, not to be disturbed. Who cares about Christians in Pakistan? You’re not important to them. Look how your plea was ignored!”
I took these thoughts to bed with me. To assume the intents of the hearts of my family, friends and readers, instead of peace from trust in Jesus, was sin. “SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE with HIS NEIGHBOR for we are members of one another.” Perhaps there is a lesson in this for someone besides me. We are not meant to carry our concerns alone.
Update.
In less than 2 weeks our approved visas from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan arrived in the mail. We were told that it could take 6 weeks for an answer. An answer to prayer! Two kind souls have donated to the fund and another has promised. God is in control even when I forget. May your day be blessed and your sleep sweet.
