For Joy to be complete.
“Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.” (Philippians 2:1-2)
We experience complete joy WHEN we are one with each other. It happens WHEN marriage is as God has intended. Complete joy can be found between brothers and sisters WHEN sharing thoughts, cares and concerns. WHEN we are “maintaining the same love” that Jesus has for us, THEN God is glorified.
Father, we spend both time and energy maintaining the things we possess. Time and energy that is spent without profit. May we learn to be attentive and obedient to the Companion You sent to us. THEN our labors will not be in vain. Because of Jesus and in His name we ask this of You. Be glorified in our lives and our joy will be complete.
“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, ‘I have come to know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him; the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.” (1 John 2:3-6)
