The Day of the Christ.
“And this I pray, that your love may abound in knowledge and all discernment, so that you may test and prove the things that are excellent, in order to be pure and blameless unto the day of Christ. (Philippians 1:9)
I’m wondering if anyone has taken the time to write a book commenting on the prayers of the apostle Paul? Each time I happen upon one I stop and listen. I’ll tell you what I heard. Love matures through knowledge and discernment which are God’s gifts of grace. They enable us to approve of and choose God’s excellent ways “in order to be pure and blameless unto the day of Christ.”
Paul’s words are clear and without redundancy, so I will go no further except to say we can pray this prayer for ourselves and for others. Oh, and one other thing, what did you hear? Just one more thing, I loved hearing the word “abound.”
