Plans

May 28, 2016

“For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.'” (Jeremiah 29:11)

I knew we were blessed, God brought us together, but I had no idea what our future would be. Does anyone?  A widow and widower, belonging to Jesus, were married so that we might love each other and serve Him together. Little did we know that our service would lead to Pakistan.

Someone once said, “Need a blessing? Be a blessing!” Love is a choice and there is so much need in this world. Be willing, Jesus was. God’s plan for the life of His Son was to demonstrate how much we are loved.

“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with works of power and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourself know – this Man delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of men without the Law and put Him to death. Whom God raised up again, putting an end to the birth pains, since it was impossible for Him to be held by it.” (Acts 2:22-24)

That is what Christ went through so that we, the church, could be born again. Jesus is the Firstborn who had to die in order for us to be where He is. What a wonderful gift it is to be able to serve Him. My prayer today? The words of the prophet Isaiah.

O LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will give thanks to your name;  For You have worked wonders, plans formed long ago with perfect faithfulness.” (Isaiah 25:1)
