We’ve heard it all before.
Shepherd and angels, a baby and gifts …. a story about God who became a man. Wow! This is quite a story, if you’re paying attention. Imagine our Creator visiting the mess that man had made of things. This is the Christmas story.
“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government shall rest upon His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
It cannot be any clearer who was coming. Christmas reminds us that He did come. And the following verse reminds us that He is coming again. “There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forever more. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.” (Isaiah 9:7)
When God arrived He spoke in parables explained to those who were paying attention. When He comes again those that are His will be paying attention. Christmas is about God and His coming to man, and Isaiah would remind us that God’s zeal will prevail. He will come again.
Father, may the photo be used as heavenly bait to catch the eye of Your chosen. May they read afresh words given long ago and understand the Christmas story. In Jesus name I get to ask this of You. Thank you.
