Symbols and patterns of heavenly things.
“Now this was the workmanship of the lampstand, hammered work of gold; from its base to its flowers it was hammered work; according to the pattern which the LORD had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand.” (Numbers 8:4)
There are wonderful treasures found in Scripture. God’s gift of grace, salvation, is the first to be found. “Believe Me”, He says. And when we do, life begins. We grow because His seed is in us. And those who abide in His word continue to mature becoming a “lampstand” of a sort themselves. The light from God’s symbols and patterns, derived from prophetic utterance and sovereign commands, are helpful when searching for treasure.
When searching for truth “Ask seek and knock.” There is lots of truth that is not easily understood and a spirit who opposes truth. Consider the statement: Faith in Jesus Christ is the only way man can be saved. God’s enemy stands ready to twist or prevent the truth from being understood. Or worse corrupt it
Was it the Legend of the Coronation Stone that gave birth to British/Anglo Israelism? John Sadler was a member of England’s Parliament who wrote a pamphlet titled “Rights of the Kingdom” in 1649. In it he suggested that the Anglo-Saxon people were descendants of the Lost Tribes of Israel. This idea smoldered in some Christian circles, but was seldom given serious consideration.
This teaching received a voice in Canada in the person of Richard Brothers 1757/1824. Unfortunately brother Brothers was insane suffering from megalomania. Thinking himself to be a descendant of king David, he claimed to be the rightful king of England. The authorities placed him in an asylum.
This teaching was revived in America through the work of John Wilson who wrote “Our Israelism Origin” in 1840. Unfortunately its faithful based their evidence on pseudoscience which was easily refuted discrediting their witness, to truth, if any. But worse are those who in the name of Christ, and through this teaching about the Lost Tribes, justify racism. That’s what I meant by corrupting truth.
It doesn’t matter if your white or black or somewhere in between. The Scriptures say, both Jew and Gentile are made one in Christ. (Ephesians 2:14-16) The gospel is for all nations, peoples, tribes and tongues. (Revelation 14:6) Those who hear will continue on into the millennial kingdom. We will be one in Christ, but we will not all live in the same place. There will be a multitude of colors and customs, but racism, as found in the Christian Identity Movement or the Black Hebrew Israelites, will not exist.
In the mean time we are enquiring of the word of God to know the truth about those who possess Jacob’s birthright, the sons of Joseph and their brother tribes whom the Lord divorced. (Jeremiah 3:8)
One-hundred-thirty some years after the total destruction of the house of Israel (2 Kings 17) God told Jeremiah, “Go and proclaim these words toward the north and say: ‘Return, backsliding Israel,’ says the LORD; ‘I will not cause My anger to fall on you. For I am merciful,’ says the Lord; I will not remain angry forever. Only acknowledge your inequity, that you have transgressed against the LORD your God, …” (Jeremiah 3:12-13)
Words spoken into the direction of where a nation once existed do not have an expiration clause. They end with certainty. Both the house of Israel and the house of Judah will be restored. God decides our ancestry with His purposes in mind. Searching out the mystery of who and where these Israelites are comes with a caution, others have gone astray.
“At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of The LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. No more will they follow the dictates of their evil hearts. In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given to your fathers.” (Jeremiah 3:17-18)
