Definitely a form of labor.
”Come unto Me all you weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28)
We can care so much about the welfare of others, especially the ones we know and love, that we worry. Enough worry can cause you to scream. And if you’re like me, the scream comes out as writing. It didn’t take long, once I started screaming, to realize this was both ignorant and vain. All the screaming in the world doesn’t help when the battle is spiritual.
I was close to “getting it” writing my last post, “Conviction”, but I had to get another scream in. My cause for worry is in Christ’s hands now. I need some rest. Those who hear will hear, and those who don’t won’t. Jesus gave warnings to those who had ears to hear. And He didn’t have to raise His voice. Screaming can’t help the deaf.
When loved ones and others are on my mind I will ask the Father to give them a stir. I really need to rest. In resting, there is no telling what the Spirit would lead me to write.
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” (Colossians 3:15-17)
Good advice…. “LET”, some things we can let happen …. when we come to Jesus.
