A word that must be understood.
“And there is salvation in no other name under heaven that has been given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
It is absolutely necessary to believe in His name if you are to be saved. No other name, be it idol, devil or man holds the power of resurrection. Salvation must happen for mortality to lose its power. Heaven has given the name that belongs to the Son of God, Jesus. But most don’t believe that it is necessary. Are they nuts? Or are they the stubborn kind that rebel against the word “must”? Perhaps their darkness needs light.
“for ‘WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.’ (Joel 2:32) How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, ‘HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF GOOD NEWS!'” (Isaiah 52:7) (Romans 10:13-15)
Some hearts have been hardened preferring their sin. The good news is a problem for them. To believe in His name is to practice righteousness, you can’t practice sin and be saved. (John 3:16-21)
Father, it is good for us to do what is necessary and proper for the sake of those who would hear. We hope they see the light in us, but we know that is not enough. “Actions speak louder than words”, some say, but the good news “MUST” be heard. So, send us , we pray, to tell others about Jesus and Your invitation to live and not die. Cause us, we pray, to be brave, we ask in Jesus’ name. Perhaps there is a club in heaven for those with “beautiful feet.”
