“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God ….” (Romans 1:16)
The gospel is “the power of God” that can save man from death and give him eternal life, but you have to believe. If you don’t you’re gonna die within a very short period of time. Plenty of evidence …. all die. It’s just a matter of days that add up to a small amount of years.
No, I am not ashamed of the gospel of the kingdom. It is the best news, and worth every bit of trouble it will cause me. In time you realize that you are no longer of this world. You’re in it, suffering the frustration of watching the course of other peoples’ lives and feeling helpless to change it. You realize that in yourself you are powerless. Seeing the deeds of this world, and knowing that Christ didn’t come to condemn, you force your anger to be checked at the door. To me, that is troublesome. I just want to smack um. “Wake up, don’t be stupid! Jesus meant ever word that He said!”
Apostle Paul wasn’t ashamed of the gospel and neither am I. “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed by faith; as it is written, BUT THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” (Romans 1:17) Faith believes in the righteousness of God that would save us from death. Faith also believes in the power of prayer. Jesus said that the Father hears us. “Do what it takes, Lord. Wake um up.”
It’s time to shake the heavens with the sound of holy pleas. “Father, bring them to their knees.” “For it is written, ‘As I live, says the LORD, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall give praise to GOD.'” (Romans 14:11) Paul was quoting Isaiah 45:23. Pray that this is the time of fulfillment for these words spoken long ago.
“Drip down, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds pour down righteousness; let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit, and righteousness spring up with it. I, the LORD, have created it.” (Isaiah 45:8)
