Grace

The mysteries of God.

“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.”  (Romans 8:29-30)

We were known before we existed as flesh and blood. God knew that we would “become  conformed to the image of His Son.” He knew us and what we would become! We existed and exist in God. Those whom He foreknew He predestined, called, justified and glorified. If you’re in Christ you are one of many brethren.

“also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.” (Ephesians 1:11-12) As they were so are we who hope in Christ, confident in the will of God.

“When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.”| (Acts 13:48)  Foreknown, predestined and appointed to eternal life are those who believe.

“just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.” (Ephesians 1:4-6)

Those He foreknew would be adopted as His sons, through Christ, and conformed to His image. There are many things beyond my understanding. Mysteries to this very day, but I am glad and at peace believing that all will be according to God’s will, “to the praise of the glory of His grace.”
