Experiencing hospitality.
“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.” (Hebrews 13:2)
Having experienced the hospitality of God’s children in Pakistan, I am certain angels would be pleased when visiting their homes. I would wish for everyone to know, at least once, what it is like to be honored. To experience sincere hospitality is to be awakened to the sweetness of humility.
So we practice hospitality on the birds we attract for our enjoyment and the neighbors who walk by. There’s lots of activity. Close to Canada we probably qualify as an international airport for different types of small birds; dozens of them flying in, fueling up and resting before flying off again. Today a stranger came to visit, and the thrill of my morning was getting these shots before she flew away.
