Shepherd’s Work

Feeding the children.

My habit is to spend time in the morning reading the things my Facebook friends have posted and texting with those who stop by to say hi. That and international news wake me up. This was posted by Presbyterian Church Zamanpark-Sheikhupura.PK
Things are quite different in that part of the world. Born again Christians in Pakistan don’t spend a lot of time arguing about whether they are saved. And they certainly are not debating how it happened. They heard the gospel, and believed what they heard. Their lives changed, and they suffer the consequences. They suffer for Christ. Shepherds feed them. And I get fed too. All this happens before breakfast as I sit comfortably in my chair.

Stories of poverty, violence and injustice wake me up to a world that is rapidly progressing toward the day of God’s judgement. What can we do? We can all be like that boy with the loaves and fishes. Give what little you have and watch Jesus do the miracles.
“He said to him the third time, ‘Simon, son of John, do you love Me?’ Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, ‘Do you love Me?’ And he said to Him, ‘Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Tend My sheep.'” (John 21:17)
