Blah, blah, blah…
“Where is the promise of His coming?” (2 Peter 3:4) The Scriptures tell us a lot about time from God’s point of view. He determines when it’s time. “The day of the Lord will come like a thief.” (2 Peter 3:10) I’m fairly sure that today would satisfy that “surprise” requirement, but He is patient “not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:8)
When “perish” is mentioned we also hear about “destruction” and “fire.” He, our Creator is not wishing that on anyone, but when He is refused that is all that remains. Why do men find it so dam hard to repent? It just means to once again be in His good graces. We were when we were born, (life is a gift of grace) but we soon departed from life’s Grantor.
So what does He do? He calls us back, and when we come we find ourselves in Light. Light that shines upon all those thoughts and ways that are not of God. We stay because we know it’s true, and we change. We change to do His will.
Today my son in the Lord, Sajid is laying sick with typhoid fever. Declaring the word of the Lord in the slums of Pakistan will do that to you. My sitting comfortably in our office, sharing the word of God with you, is pretty easy by comparison. We are both being who God has created. I found a couple of verses that I’m sharing with Sajid and all who have continued reading.
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me. You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your kindness, O Lord, is everlasting; do not forsake the work of your hands.” (Psalm 138:8)
Love to all.
