From the cross to the grave.
This seems to be the path when you’re following Him. We can not skip the cross or the grave (dying to self) if we want to follow Christ. He knew from the beginning what would lie ahead, and so do we, if we believe. He lived to do His Father’s will, and so should we. “And Jesus crying out with a loud voice, said, ‘Father, into Your hands, I commit My spirit.’ Having said this, He breathed His last.” (Luke 23:46, see Psalm 31:5)
Wow! I can’t imagine what God would do if all of His children made this commitment. “Into Your hands, I commit my spirit,” while I still have breath. There’s no need to imagine when seen in the lives of men and women who are traveling that way. The will of the Lord is seen to be beautiful in mercy, gentile and kind. They have found Christ to be the Way. The way to the Father and resurrection.
“The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of my salvation,” (Psalm 18:46)
