End of the Matter

For me, the end of the matter is to abide in God’s rest. That place where no matter what occurs there is peace. Confidence that God knows what He is doing. Certainty that a loving Father has purposed the events in my life, and that He will sovereignly accomplish His good pleasure.  My beginning as a Christian was not restful. Many years were spent laboring to enter His rest. It takes faith, total trust that His revelation of Himself is true. These are some of the Scriptures that helped me to understand what it means to be saved by a sovereign God.

“The end of a matter is better than its beginning; Patience of spirit is better than haughtiness of spirit.” (Ecclesiastes 7:8)

“For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end,” (Hebrews 3:14)

“Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure;” (Isaiah 46:10)

“God Set Eternity in the Heart of Man: He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

“Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.” (Revelation 21:6)

“Who has performed and accomplished it,
Calling forth the generations from the beginning?
‘I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last. I am He.” (Isaiah 41:4)

If Jesus, the Son of God, is your Savior, long ago that was accomplished in the mind of God. Rest.
