God says

That should have been the end of it.

But the serpent had his say, and collectively we all fell prey. We have inherited some knowledge that hasn’t done us any good. Evil entered in. They were commanded, and now men are warned.

Rebellion is no less today than when Satan first challenged God. A defeated foe was left to roam, still challenging God’s authority, that authority we received when we received Jesus. God’s enemy now challenges the children of God.

“Does God really mean what those words say? Trust in yourself, not Him” If confusion and flattery fails to work eventually we will fall on our own. Then come the accusations. They are foolishness to God’s ear, when speaking about His child, but, be honest, they can surely work on us. And while we are being honest most would say, we would rather be without this challenge to our authority.

Since God thought it wise to let the liar roam there is only one solution. Faith that trusts  in the Father’s love. It will give you the victory every time. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (1 John 5:4)
