Twin Subjects: The Gospel and Faith #5

Why me?

What do I have to give to those God called to ministry who live among a people whom God chose to be rich in faith? What can I give to the poor of Pakistan.  “Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?” (James 2:5 NASB) I have the word of God.

Oh, I may not be able to direct you to where His words are found. Chapter and verse does not always stick, and sometimes I get the prophets mixed up. And do not ask me to entertain you, I would not know how, but I know the Author and His Spirit who has written Christ’s words on my heart. I know! I will tell them God loves them; that Jesus died for them so that they could become His Father’s children.

Then comes the good part, what it means to be God’s child. I will tell them what I know. The forgiveness, patience, wisdom and firmness of a loving Father who will never abandon His child. I will tell them that they too are entrusted with a treasure, the word of God, and that His Spirit dwells in them. May those who are rich in faith come to understand all that it means to be a child of God.

“Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you. (2 Timothy 1:13-14 NASB)
