“Rich in faith.”
It comes at a cost. A life that endures suffering from the rejection of men, dependence on God for their daily bread, these are the very things that require the steadfastness of faith. “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6 NASB) Christians in Pakistan have that kind of faith, and it becomes rich with the hearing of the gospel.
The problem is “The thief (who) comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” (John 10:10) Thieves come with distorted gospels and vain repetitions. The self-called enter the “profession of ministry.” Their lives feed off of the poor. Robbed of the milk of God’s word, and fed the doctrines of man, how will faith grow? Only by the truth, seen in the lives of those called by God to proclaim the glory of His word.
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” (Isaiah 52:7; Romans 10:15)
Pray for the pastors and elders and deacons who serve God’s children. Pray that they resist the politics that would divide the body of Christ. Pray that they are emboldened by the Spirit for this time of harvest. Pray that they always question the motives of their heart, and are quick to repent if self is seen. Pray that their needs are met in abundance so that they are able to share their blessings. Pray that the Father is glorified in them. That will make them happy.
