They are not required.

When Jesus spoke of earthly things He made it so simple. “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:12) When He spoke in parables He would always explain, if you wanted to know what He meant. At other times Jesus spoke of heavenly things to be explained by the Holy Spirit.
Theologians arguing doctrine, and calling each other heretics causes suspicion instead of peace. Thank God scholars are not required for us to understand God’s thoughts and ways. Jesus sent the Spirit to teach us. “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” (John 16:13)
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
“One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.” (Psalm 27:4)
Grace and peace to all who would believe. God, our Father, has given us all things. Praise His holy name, the Son of God, Jesus.
