Make No Assumptions

“Let the wicked forsake his way
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And let him return to the Lord,
And He will have compassion on him,
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.”
(Isaiah 55:7NASB)

Concerning God and His will man’s theologies are imperfect. With the topics of God’s grace, Christ’s cross, and our faith we are all somewhere on the same page. Some have just started to read and discover truth, while others may be contemplating the last paragraph. We are all born again children of God. Each under the supervision of the Holy Spirit as we travel from the Mountain of Pride to the Valley of Humility.

God was speaking to His people through the prophet Isaiah. It is obvious that they are His people, they were being called to “return to the Lord.” In the letter to the church of Ephesus Jesus was writing to His people. He was calling them to repent and return to the relationship they enjoyed in the beginning. (see Paul’s instructions and prayer for them in the letter to the Ephesians.)

” But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent.” (Revelation 2:4-5)

We have been saved to forever dwell with a holy family. Saved to be holy. Only faith responds to the will of God. Only grace supplies the strength. Only hope trusts in God’s promises. And only love makes us one.
