Oasis

Living Water

[ The Thirsting Soul Satisfied in God. ] [ A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. ] “O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1NASB

Have you ever stopped and thought about what Jesus meant when He said, “but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst;”? (John 4:14NASB) I have. His water is the word of God. “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.” (John 6:63NASB) Drink deeply!

We may be in the wilderness, but God has provided an oasis full of living water. Two springs fill God’s Biblical Oasis, the Old and New Testaments. This well of living water will never dry up. Drink and watch His life spring up. “but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” (John 4:15)

The photo was taken from a spot, off the beaten path, overlooking the Judean Desert, the wilderness of Christ’s temptation. Jesus drank from the word of God when tempted by Satan. He overcame and so will we, but we have to drink. If you have wandered for a while you should be very thirsty. Drink!
