Granted Time

 The value of Time.

Life expectancy in Pakistan is 66.5 (WHO stats 2018), while life expectancy in the USA is 79.8 yrs  Those in the USA Can expect to be granted 13 more years of time. We can try to explain this difference with words such as nutrition, health care, education and environment, but the truth is God has granted an us expectation of time. He chose the place of our birth and numbered our days before we were born.

“…..   From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.” (Luke 12:48) Surely this verse applies to the most valuable treasure we possess, time.  For us it is a mystery as to how much we have left, but not to God who ordained every day.
“Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.” (Psalm 139:16NASB)

So, here is where the questions are asked; What are we doing with the most precious commodity God has entrusted to us? Are we offering our time as a spiritual sacrifice, or are we consuming all of it for our own purposes? The days that remain are ours to spend as we will, but imagine the fruit if we spend it on others!

“And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God,  you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 2:4-5NASB)

To spend time in prayer for another is the spiritual activity of living stones, a royal priesthood. I am asking you to pray for Shanaz, she is Sajid’s mother, his Ami. And pray for her family in the Lord. Pray that God’s will is received with thanksgiving. I know it will be as He wills for each of our hearts. But we would rather experience Christ’s joy than have need for the Spirit’s comfort.

God bless you.
