Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.’ It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, ‘Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, ‘These are true words of God.'” Revelation (19:6-9NASB)
Are you looking forward to this and all that will follow? I hope so, but I know some won’t be prepared. It’s that oil and the lamp thing about five virgins that were not prepared. I’m sure they were busy doing other things, important things, like sleeping. No time for righteous acts or washing their robes. I am concerned for so many who will not have made themselves ready. Not much has changed since John the Baptist. Men still cry, Repent!
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight.'” (Mark 1:3NASB) And the ones who do are filled with His Spirit, the oil for their lamps. Following Christ they are shown the deeds prepared for them long ago. These are the righteous acts of the saints who are not too busy for God. They are being forgiven and cleansed from the stain of sin.
“I said to him, ‘My lord, you know.’ And he said to me, ‘These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.'” (Revelation 7:14NASB)
Come, Lord Jesus, come!
