“I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.”
(John 10:14-15 NASB)
We cannot fool God. He knows who belongs to Him, and knows Him. Jesus laid down His life for His sheep. God loves us and His love is meant for all seasons.
Christmas season in Pakistan is a month full of celebration that brings out the community. Occasions to eat, plays to entertain, music, sing-a-longs and sermons about a baby are a wonderful break in the life of a Pakistani Christian. Many do not know Christ. One’s religious identity is determined at birth. It is very odd to think that there are those who are persecuted for Christ and do not know Him.
Poverty and depression are pushed aside during the traditional festivities of Christmas season. Sadly, there will be more women than men. Drink or drugs or just “slave-labor-tired” will keep many men away. But some will come who are seasonal. What’s it like in your part of the world?
Pray for seasonal Christians to clearly hear the gospel in the midst of activities. Pray for the humility that acknowledges need. Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send more laborers into His field. Pray for Pakistan. Pray
