“A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold.” (Proverbs 22:1NASB)
God changed my character. Now I’m known as a “nice man” by some, while others use more descriptors. “Religious fanatic, old man who’s into conspiracy theories” was how someone else described me. That has to be the high water mark, for me, this side of eternity.
My words are deeds that express my faith in God. Yes, I am fanatical when it comes to faith in Jesus. Old? Yes, life hardened and God softened, with years of experience. So, I will praise the Lord for these new names, I wouldn’t have either without His grace. The third descriptor missed the mark. The prophets did not conspire nor did the apostles. They spread the truth. It’s not theory!
My Christmas wish for all my readers is a good name.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.” Revelation 2:17NASB)
“He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name.” (Revelation 3:12NASB)
