Seeing Stuff

Prophets are not the only ones.

Any watchful child of God can see stuff. They can see the condition of man enslaved to sin and death. They can see the difference in man when the Spirit sets them free. If you’re old enough it is easy to see where all this stuff is headed. Maybe vision gets better when your old and not afraid to look.

There is nothing left that is scary when you know your future is secure. It will be shaped by your loving Father. The old have seen proof of this time and again, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28NASB)

“His purpose” is to conform us to the image of His Son. (verse 29) Young or old, believers are in God’s hands as He works out His Devine purpose, toward those who love Him, creating sons and daughters to be like Jesus. Holy.

That is what old folks, who love God, have come to see. He has carried them past most of the events that have shaped them, and they came out better for having gone through all that stuff. Mainly, a better understanding of God’s heart. They have witnessed His patience and the depths of love. At least that is how it is for old folks who have learned to joyfully surrender to God’s will in everything.

”Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18NASB) Why wait till you’re old? Remember this as you’re going through stuff now! He is God, The Creator, and He knows what He’s doing. God is pleased when we believe Him.
