Shepherds

These are the sheep!

“And the master said to the slave, ‘Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled.” (Luke 14:23 NASB)

Sheep without a pastor. They are called Christian and abused as Christians. Who will read the Scriptures for them? They can’t read. There was no one to teach them.  Faith in HIS NAME abides with superstitions, and error goes unchallenged. This is the condition of many of Jesus’ sheep in Pakistan. Where are the shepherds?

Look at them, they are watched over as they take a break. They will never experience a conference or retreat. These slaves hope for the basic things, like their next meal. Brothers and sisters without a shepherd. Where are the shepherds?

Some Christians are blessed with education and opportunity for a better life. It’s hard to resist that kind of “calling.” I have been blessed with a “better life,” and I know how comforting it is to be warm and well fed. This warm and well fed foreigner has the privilege of having over three-hundred Pakistani Facebook friends. From all walks of life they are pastors, seminary students, elders, house wives, teachers, nurses, laborers, even a painter and cab driver. I told you, I’m blessed.

I have a request. Would you join me in praying that our Father raise up cross-bearers who follow the Spirit where the flesh doesn’t want to go? Faithful men and women with hearts to serve. I hope that now is the time when all of God’s children are fed.
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.” (1 John 4:11-12 NASB)
