New Heavens and New Earth #7

So, can you imagine what it will be like going to Jerusalem and having Jesus teach us God’s ways? Try it! For a time dwell on that thought. Face to face with Jesus as He teaches us stuff we don’t know. It can’t get better than being with, and listening to Jesus! In the mean time we can listen to the Spirit, and follow as best we can.

Life in this prophesied world will be unlike anything we have ever known.  A world renewed and occupied by the living souls of the prophets, apostles and saints.
“And Jesus said to them, ‘Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.'” (Matthew 19:28 NASB) There will be Peace.  It will be a covenant of peace. (Ezekiel 37:26, Isaiah 54:10)

“There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.”  (Isaiah 9:7 NASB)

World wide peace that will be enforced. “From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.” (Revelation 19:15 NASB) Remember? This earth’s age is being populated with generations of unregenerate souls. (Isaiah 65:17-20) Minus the influence of Satan, man still retains the knowledge of good and evil. The God of Peace will rule righteously.

“I will make a covenant of peace with them and eliminate harmful beasts from the land so that they may live securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.” (Ezekiel 34:25 NASB)  This covenant of peace effects the relationship of animals with man and with each other.

“And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
And the calf and the young lion [a]and the fatling together;
And a little boy will lead them.

Also the cow and the bear will graze,
Their young will lie down together,
And the lion will eat straw like the ox.

The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.

They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea.” (Isaiah 11:6-9 NASB)

What a difference our reality will become when Jesus is King. “Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.'” (Revelation 19:6 NASB)

There can be peace now when we listen to and believe the Spirit of God. We are talking about the peace of God, the power that stills the winds and waves.  “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 NASB)
