In You

What’s God accomplishing in you? Or is He already done? How’s this for a thought to ponder. What is God’s word actually accomplishing in you? I know He creates with His word.
“So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 NASB)

I know God is not interested in what we look like on the outside, He picked David to be king, so I know God cares what we look like on the inside. That is where His word does its accomplishing. On the inside is where the Spirit is working.
“This is the covenant that I will make with them
After those days, says the Lord:
I will put My laws upon their heart,
And on their mind I will write them,”
He then says,
‘And their sins and their lawless deeds
I will remember no more.'” (Hebrews 10:16-17 NASB, Jeremiah 31:33)

The Holy Spirit does the writing that Christ’s shed blood made possible. I am so tired of listening to people argue about God’s laws, grace, faith and how they NOW apply to those who believe in the name of Jesus. If you’re part of this new covenant, saved by grace through faith, then God’s laws are unavoidable. Faith will cause us misery when intentionally violating that which is holy. There is shame and repentance, when we believe.

Those who do not believe God’s word, reject His Spirit that would write holy laws upon their heart. To believe is to follow, and that requires the sacrifice of our flesh. This sacrifice is an old fashion word, hardly mentioned any more, “obedience.” Fruit is produced because of obedience which is the work of the Spirit within the life of the believer. Trust me, this too is unavoidable, the tree will eventually mature.

Saved by God’s grace, He sent His word to be heard. Whether believed or not, God’s  purpose is accomplished. No, we are not saved by works, but if we are saved, the Spirit will produce them, eventually. Or did you think we can mosey through life, with little to change, and magically one day be like Him?  Nah!

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9 NASB)
