Babies are crying, parents are begging.
Not a few or many, but nations. Fear drove the rich and powerful into hiding and locking down the rest. The doors were shut, and men were left out. “The system is broke, we have no wages.” This house was built on a pile of sand. It crashed and men are now starving. Reminds me of the chicken or the egg, what came first, the collapse or the virus.
The air is cleansing, birds are returning, streams are flushing the waste away. We are told that mankind was the virus. Sin is the virus. Grace is the cure.
“For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. (Romans 8:20-22 NASB)
Subjected is a powerful word. It conveys the absolute authority of the creator who is executing His sovereign will upon His creation. “And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.” (Romans 8:23 NASB)
So, you who can hear me there is plenty to do. It’s not the time for selfies that embarrass the ones coming in need. It’s not the time to lock your heart down when families are starving. And it’s not the time to turn others away. The stories would make your heart heavy. There is way more need than resources. Most of us westerners have government agencies to keep us from starving. Christians in Pakistan are slaves and servants who have been locked out and they are starving.
