Confession to the high priest.
Swearing to tell the truth is a serious thing to the virtuous. They have been called as a witness to the truth. The Religious wanted Him dead and were looking for evidence, but
“They did not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. But later on two came forward, and said, ‘This man stated, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.'”
That is all they had on Him, a misunderstanding. They needed evidence.
“The high priest stood up and said to Him, ‘Do You not answer? What is it that these men are testifying against You?’ But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him, ‘I charge You under oath by the living God, that You tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.'”
Virtue was commanded to swear under oath to the Living God. “Are You God’s Son?”
“Jesus said to him, ‘You have said it yourself; nevertheless I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” (Matthew 26:60-64 NASB)
Some days are just for reading, somedays are for writing little sermons to scatter around the net. On days like this it’s a little of both. I know Jesus is coming, I just don’t know when. In the mean time it is time to adjust. For most of us, life is very different with challenges that found us unprepared. Best advice I can give you is to let go of what you don’t have, and discover ways to adjust. Big letters ADJUST.
