Proving what is God’s Will

Some would say, “It’s hard to know God’s will in the best of times.” The fact is, Satan and sin would confuse and blind us to God’s perfect will for our lives. On the other hand, the Spirit of Holiness would tell us how we can prove what is the will of God. There are only two things we need to do and one thing we need to avoid.

“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:1-2 NASB)

Now that we are saved there is something we have to do if we want to know God’s will. First, our body is turned over to be exclusively used in holiness of deed and worship, instead of how it use to be used. Second, our mind must be changed, because His ways and thoughts are not like ours. In order for that to happen we have to part company with a lot of our old ways as we learn about His.

Jesus explained it this way,
Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”(Mark 1:14-15 NASB)
