Paul’s 2nd letter to the Thessalonian Church
Since the Corona virus Christianity has been experiencing an abundance of end time prophetic interpretations. You might say, “The interest in these teachings are spreading like viruses.” Scholars cast their scholarly opinions and gather up others to say “Amen.” Sharks swim these murky waters praying on the fears of mankind. The possibility of personally experiencing Christ coming in the clouds sparked some interest.
I too have an interest in the events God has ordained. He knew the end from the beginning. Jesus’ apostles have done an amazing job explaining what they know to be true.
“We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater; therefore, we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure. This is a plain indication of God’s righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering.”
This letter could be addressed to thousands of churches today. Christians who are suffering persecutions, and afflictions no less than those of Hebrews under Pharaoh. They are considered “worthy of the kingdom of God,” for that is why they are suffering. My sure word to them, God hears your groaning as He heard the groans of His children Israel. There will be retribution and relief. Listen to the apostle and he will tell you when.
“For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well WHEN the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, WHEN He comes to be glorified in His saints ON THAT DAY, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed.” (2 Thessalonians 1: 3-10 NASB)
When the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven, then there will be retribution. This will happen when He comes to glorify His saints. I am going to continue this end time explanation of the apostles. They know the truth and there are lots of opinions being spread.
