Who to Believe?

Here is the best reason I can give for believing in Jesus.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”

“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18 NASB)

What is the significance of His name?

The Savior, Messiah, Anointed One sent by God is Jesus in what ever language you use. That is who must be believed. God said His Son would be King and that mankind’s obedience would be to Him.    “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 NASB)

 But most are partial to evil, running from the truth.

 “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.” (John3:16-20 NASB)

Some are saved from God’s judgement.

Those who believe see themselves in God’s Light, and are led to repent of ways that are not His. Because we believe we suffer the Spirit’s grief until we do truly repent. Do you see how close God is to His children? He dwells within us. We are His temple.  “But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.” (John 3:21 NASB)

Christians are God’s children transformed from glory to glory.

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18 NASB)
