Seeking the truth?
Some say they are searching, and there are many voices claiming to have found the pot of gold. “Believe this, believe that!” What is a seeker to do? Some seek proof and spend their lives unsatisfied. Arguments are not proof, history is debated and science draws different conclusions. How can a sincere, but cautious seeker find the proof that Jesus’ teachings came from God? How can there be proof when the subject is faith?
“But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and began to teach. The Jews then were astonished, saying, ‘How has this man become learned, having never been educated?’ So Jesus answered them and said, ‘My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself. He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” (John7:14-18 NASB)
My new friends came with different faiths, nations, languages and cultures. I am confident that sincere seekers of truth are among you. Those who are willing to do God’s will, as taught by Jesus, will find all the proof they will ever need. Jesus’ first teachings, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)
Those seeking proof will be willing to repent and believe. Then God will send His Spirit of truth who is life. (John 6:63) “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” (John 16:13 NASB)
This is the proof, Christ’s life in those who are willing to do God’s will.
