Old and convinced
Why so certain? I’ve been a believer in Christ for a long time. Many of those years were spent in fear, and it’s a good thing too. It taught me that God was not fooling when addressing the behavior of His children. Jesus sets us free from the bondage of sin. With me, deliverance was a lengthy affair. I really did not know the extent of my pride. Pride that cannot walk the path intended for the humble.
I am convinced that God is, that nothing is impossible for Him and that He rewards those who seek Him. He gives His thoughts and ways to those who seek Him, and are willing to give up their own. That was my problem, I justified my thoughts and ways for the longest time. When sick enough of sin, I tried to free myself without asking God for help. You can imagine how that turned out! Failures. Until I finally understood what it means to have a savior.
I am convinced that I need a Savior. That’s a wonderful thing considering the direction this world is heading. Jesus has allowed me opportunity to cast truth into the seas, nations of the world. Truth that proclaims His coming as God promised long ago.
“But with righteousness He will judge the poor,
And decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth;
And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.” (Isaiah 11:4 NASB)
